Executive Summary
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently appealed to citizens to reduce the consumption of gold and edible oil for a year. He also urged people to conserve petrol, diesel, and cooking gas amid the crisis arising from the ongoing tensions in West Asia involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. Amid this backdrop, a purported image of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his son Jay Shah, who currently serves as Chairman of the International Cricket Council, has gone viral on social media. The image shows them seated inside a chartered aircraft along with two other individuals. Several social media users shared the picture as genuine while targeting the central government and Amit Shah.
However, CyberPeace Research Wing reseach found that the viral image is fake and was generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Claim
An Instagram user named “Om Prakash Shukla” shared the viral image on May 24, 2026, with the caption:“People are sacrificing their desires for the nation, while they are enjoying luxury.”

Fact Check
To verify the authenticity of the viral image, we conducted a Google Lens search. However, the image was not found on any credible news platform, which raised suspicion about its authenticity. We also performed keyword-based searches related to the image using Google Search, but found no authentic reports or media coverage associated with the picture.
Further reseach involved analysing the image using AI detection tools. We first examined the picture using the “Sight Engine” AI detection tool, which indicated a 99 percent probability that the image was AI-generated.
We also tested the image using another AI detection platform called “TruthScan.” This tool likewise suggested, with around 97 percent probability, that the image had been created using artificial intelligence
Conclusion
The reseach found that the viral image featuring Union Home Minister Amit Shah and ICC Chairman Jay Shah inside a chartered aircraft is AI-generated. The image was digitally created using AI tools, and the viral claim associated with it is false.

The viral posts also claim that the group has intensified its so-called campaign to “clean the rotten system.” However, CyberPeace Research Wing research found the claim to be misleading.The research revealed that the video has no connection with the ‘Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)’. The original footage dates back to February 2026 and shows Chhattisgarh Police sub-inspector Abdul Munaf being caught by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in an alleged ₹25,000 bribery case.
Claim
A Facebook user shared the viral video on May 23, 2026, claiming that members of the “Cockroach Janta Party” caught a police officer red-handed taking a ₹30,000 bribe. The post further stated that the group had intensified its campaign against corruption. The link and archived post are provided.
Fact Check
To verify the claim, we extracted key frames from the viral video and conducted a reverse image search. During the research, we found a report published on the Navbharat Times website dated February 26, 2026, which contained visuals matching the viral vi
According to the report, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Korea district, Chhattisgarh, arrested a corrupt police station in-charge while accepting a bribe of ₹25,000. After being caught, the officer attempted to assert authority using his uniform and resisted the search procedure, but soon gave up. Further verification using keywords from the Navbharat Times report led to a similar story published by Dainik Bhaskar, which also contained the same visuals.
Additionally, a related context about the satirical “Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)” trend was found in a Times Now Hindi report, which explains that the term emerged as an online satire following a controversial remark attributed to the Chief Justice of India regarding unemployed youth. The statement was later clarified.
Conclusion
The research confirms that the viral video has no connection with the ‘Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)’. The original footage is from a February 2026 incident in which Chhattisgarh Police sub-inspector Abdul Munaf was arrested by the ACB in a bribery case involving ₹25,000. The video has been falsely linked to a misleading narrative on social media.

Fact Check:
Our research has confirmed that there is no scheme by the Government of India named 'PM Kisan Tractor Yojana.' The circulating announcement is false and appears to be an attempt to defraud farmers through fraudulent means.
While the government does provide various agricultural subsidies under recognized schemes such as the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and the Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM), no such initiative under the name 'PM Kisan Tractor Yojana' exists. This misleading claim is, therefore, a phishing attempt aimed at deceiving farmers and unlawfully collecting their personal or financial information.
Farmers and stakeholders are advised to rely only on official government sources for scheme-related information and to exercise caution against such deceptive practices.
To assess the authenticity of the “PM Kisan Tractor Yojana” claim, we reviewed the websites farmertractoryojana.in and tractoryojana.in. Our analysis revealed several inconsistencies, indicating that these websites are fraudulent.
As part of our verification process, we evaluated tractoryojana.in using Scam Detector to determine its trustworthiness. The results showed a low trust score, raising concerns about its legitimacy. Similarly, we conducted the same check for farmertractoryojana.in, which also appeared untrustworthy and risky. The detailed results of these assessments are attached below.
Given that these websites falsely present themselves as government-backed initiatives, our findings strongly suggest that they are part of a fraudulent scheme designed to mislead and exploit individuals seeking genuine agricultural subsidies.
During our research, we examined the "How it Works" section of the website, which outlines the application process for the alleged “PM Kisan Tractor Yojana.” Notably, applicants are required to pay a refundable application fee to proceed with their registration. It is important to emphasize that no legitimate government subsidy program requires applicants to pay a refundable application fee.
Our research found that the address listed on the website, “69A, Hanuman Road, Vile Parle East, Mumbai 400057,” is not associated with any government office or agricultural subsidy program. This further confirms the website’s fraudulent nature. Farmers should verify subsidy programs through official government sources to avoid scams.
A key inconsistency is the absence of a verified social media presence. Most legitimate government programs maintain official social media accounts for updates and communication. However, these websites fail to provide any such official handles, further casting doubt on their authenticity.
Upon attempting to log in, both websites redirect to the same page, suggesting they may be operated by the same entity or individual. This further raises concerns about their legitimacy and reinforces the likelihood of fraudulent activity.
Conclusion:
Our research confirms that the "PM Kisan Tractor Yojana" claim is fraudulent. No such government scheme exists, and the websites promoting it exhibit multiple red flags, including low trust scores, a misleading application process requiring a refundable fee, a false address, and the absence of an official social media presence. Additionally, both websites redirect to the same page, suggesting they are operated by the same entity. Farmers are advised to rely on official government sources to avoid falling victim to such scams.

Claim:
The claim in this video suggests that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is endorsing an automotive system that promises daily earnings of ₹15,00,000 with an initial investment of ₹21,000.
Fact Check:
To check the genuineness of the claim, we used the keyword search for “Nirmala Sitharaman investment program” but we haven’t found any investment related scheme. We observed that the lip movements appeared unnatural and did not align perfectly with the speech, leading us to suspect that the video may have been AI-manipulated.
When we reverse searched the video which led us to this DD News live-stream of Sitharaman’s press conference after presenting the Union Budget on February 1, 2025. Sitharaman never mentioned any investment or trading platform during the press conference, showing that the viral video was digitally altered. Technical analysis using Hive moderator further found that the viral clip is Manipulated by voice cloning.
Conclusion:
The viral video on social media shows Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman endorsing the government’s new investment project as completely voice cloned, manipulated and false. This highlights the risk of online manipulation, making it crucial to verify news with credible sources before sharing it. With the growing risk of AI-generated misinformation, promoting media literacy is essential in the fight against false information.

A second look at the architecture of the stadium also affirms that the venue is not Dubai International Cricket Stadium, as asserted. Additional confirmation from official sources and media outlets verifies that there was no such fireworks celebration in Dubai after India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 win. The video has therefore been misattributed and shared with incorrect context.

To check the genuineness of the claim, the whole Influencer Special episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) which can also be found on the Sony Set India YouTube channel was carefully reviewed. Our analysis proved that no part of the episode had comedian Samay Raina cracking a joke on actress Rekha. The technical analysis using Hive moderator further found that the viral clip is AI-made.
Conclusion:
A viral video on the Internet that shows Samay Raina making a joke about Rekha during KBC was released and completely AI-generated and false. This poses a serious threat to manipulation online and that makes it all the more important to place a fact-check for any news from credible sources before putting it out. Promoting media literacy is going to be key to combating misinformation at this time, with the danger of misuse of AI-generated content.

Furthermore, the supposed evidence—the absence of specific advertisements in Kerala newspapers—has been misinterpreted and holds no connection to any policy decisions regarding currency
During our research, we found that this was the prediction of what the newspaper from the year 2050 would look like and was not a statement that the notes will be banned and will be shifted to digital currency.
Such a massive change would necessitate clear communication to the public, major infrastructure improvements, and precise policy announcements which have not happened. This false rumor has widely spread on social media without even a shred of evidence from its source, which has been unreliable and is hence completely false.
We also found a clip from a news channel to support our research by asianetnews on Instagram.
We found that the event will be held in Jain Deemed-to-be University, Kochi from 25th January to 1st February. After this advertisement went viral and people began criticizing it, the director of "The Summit of Future 2025" apologized for this confusion. According to him, it was a fictional future news story with a disclaimer, which was misread by some of its readers.
The X handle of Summit of Future 2025 also posted a video of the official statement from Dr Tom.
Conclusion:
The claim that the Indian government will discontinue paper currency by February 1 and resort to full digital money is entirely false. There's no government announcement nor any evidence to support it. We would like to urge everyone to refer to standard sources for accurate information and be aware to avoid misinformation online.

It has been reported that fraudsters are impersonating Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum through fake websites and emails, promising LPG distributorships and seeking money from victims.

After our research, we came upon more information about this topic and found out that the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has released an official notice confirming that fraudulent websites and emails are impersonating India's Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), which include Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd., and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. The scams falsely promise LPG distributorships and retail outlet dealerships while demanding large sums of money from unsuspecting individuals. On June 19, 2019, this was confirmed. The PIB highlighted that OMCs have not allowed any person or organization to charge a fee for dealership selection. All authentic information on these offers is available at the websites of the OMCs: www.iocl.com, www.bharatpetroleum.com, and www.hindustanpetroleum.com. The general public is cautioned to rely only on these sources and report suspicious approaches to the offices of concerned OMCs. If someone finds such an approach, he should immediately contact the cybercrime branch. HPCL has issued alerts on fake websites and emails that promise LPG distributorships and jobs, mimicking official HPCL sites to deceive people.

The claim of air taxi and routes between Amritsar, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Jaipur has been found to be misleading. Also, so far, neither the Indian government nor the respective aviation authorities have issued any sort of public declarations nor industry insiders to claim any launch of any air taxi service. Further research followed a keyword-based search that directed us to a news report published in The Times of India on January 20, 2025. A similar post to the one seen in the viral video accompanied the report. It stated that Bengaluru-based aerospace startup Sarla Aviation launched its prototype air taxi called “Shunya” during the Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Under this plan, it looks to initiate electric flying taxis in Bangalore by 2028. This urban air transport program for India will be similar to what they are posting in this regard.

The video has taken the internet by storm and is being discussed as much as words can be. In this report, we shall consider the legitimacy of the above claim by examining the content of the video, timing and verifying information from reliable sources.
Claim:
The viral video claims Chandra Arya spoke Kannada after filing his nomination for the Canadian Prime Minister position in 2025, after the resignation of Justin Trudeau.
Fact Check:
Upon receiving the video, we performed a reverse image search of the key frames extracted from the video, we found that the video has no connection to any nominations for the Canadian Prime Minister position.Instead, we found that it was an old video of his speech in the Canadian Parliament in 2022. Simultaneously, an old post from the X (Twitter) handle of Mr. Arya’s account was posted at 12:19 AM, May 20, 2022, which clarifies that the speech has no link with the PM Candidature post in the Canadian Parliament.
Further our research led us to a YouTube video posted on a verified channel of Hindustan Times dated 20th May 2022 with a caption -
“India-born Canadian MP Chandra Arya is winning hearts online after a video of his speech at the Canadian Parliament in Kannada went viral. Arya delivered a speech in his mother tongue - Kannada. Arya, who represents the electoral district of Nepean, Ontario, in the House of Commons, the lower house of Canada, tweeted a video of his address, saying Kannada is a beautiful language spoken by about five crore people. He said that this is the first time when Kannada is spoken in any Parliament outside India. Netizens including politicians have lauded Arya for the video.”
Conclusion:
The viral video claiming that Chandra Arya spoke in Kannada after filing his nomination for the Canadian Prime Minister position in 2025 is completely false. The video, dated May 2022, shows Chandra Arya delivering an address in Kannada in the Canadian Parliament, unrelated to any political nominations or events concerning the Prime Minister's post. This incident highlights the need for thorough fact-checking and verifying information from credible sources before sharing.
