Fact Check
We conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens, which led us to a video uploaded on The Tribune's verified YouTube channel that matched the viral clip. In the original video, Vikram Misri clarified that the Government of India neither officially participated in, supported, nor was involved in any event related to India-Pakistan dialogue. He further stated that the government had taken no cognisance of such private events and that the retired dignitaries and diplomats present were expressing their personal views, not speaking on behalf of the Government of India.

Since we found no evidence that Vikram Misri had ever made the statements attributed to him in the viral clip, we analysed the video using Hive Moderation's AI-generated content detection tool. The analysis indicated that the viral video is 96 per cent AI-generated.
To further verify the claim, we analysed the audio using Hiya Audio Intelligence. The tool concluded that the voice in the viral video appears to have been generated or modified using artificial intelligence.
Conclusion
The viral video is misleading. Our research found that the video of Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri had been manipulated using artificial intelligence. He never made any statement claiming that the Indian government disclosed the names of soldiers killed during Operation Sindoor due to pressure from their families. We also examined the viral image using OpenAI’s image verification tool, which detected the presence of SynthID—an invisible watermark embedded by Google in AI-generated content. This indicates that the image was created or modified using AI tools.
In addition, we reviewed the live broadcasts of the match by Fox Sports and Universo. Both broadcasts showed only the national flags of Iran and Egypt displayed on the pitch before kickoff. No giant rainbow flags appeared during the pre-match ceremony.

For verification, we extracted multiple keyframes from the video and conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens. During the search, we found the same video published on the Public app on 27 June 2026. According to the report, the incident took place on Malviya Road in Deoria city, Uttar Pradesh, during a Muharram procession, where a member of the 5-Star Club akhara, Saddam (24), a resident of Bans Deoria, suffered burn injuries while performing stunts involving fire. The report further stated that members of the akhara immediately rescued him and arranged first aid. Police confirmed that his condition is stable and that the incident was accidental. No other untoward incident was reported, and all Muharram processions were conducted peacefully. Responding to users, the official X handle of DCP Yamuna Nagar, Prayagraj, stated, “Upon a detailed research of the said matter/video, it has been found that it is not from the Naini Yamuna Bridge, but is a 2.5-year-old video from Delhi’s Signature Bridge. Please do not spread misleading information, otherwise legal action will be initiated against it.”

Facebook user ‘Yadav Roshni’ posted a video on June 23, 2026 (archive link) along with a caption claiming that an Australian tourist named “Anderson” visited Agra (Uttar Pradesh) to explore India’s culture and heritage, but was allegedly robbed during his visit. The post claims that thieves stole his passport, money, and all his belongings, leaving him helpless in a foreign country It further alleges that after losing everything, the tourist was forced to work as a labourer at a brick kiln to survive. He himself clarifies in the video that the viral claim is false and that his footage was misused and shared with a fake narrative.

These visual anomalies raised suspicions that the video had been generated using artificial intelligence. The video was then analyzed using the AI detection tool Hive Moderation, which indicated a nearly 99 percent probability that the content was AI-generated.
For additional verification, we also examined the clip using Undetectable AI, which similarly indicated a high likelihood that the video had been created using artificial intelligence.

We first extracted several keyframes from the viral video and conducted reverse image searches using Google Lens. However, we found no credible news reports or evidence linking the footage to the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. A closer examination of the video revealed several anomalies. Despite the intense shaking and collision of the buildings, the windows and structural features remained unchanged throughout the footage. No visible deformation or damage appeared in the buildings before they collapsed, which is highly unrealistic and raised suspicions that the video had been generated using AI. To verify this, we analyzed the video using the AI detection tool detectvideo.ai. The results indicated a 73 percent probability that the footage was AI-generated.
Similarly, analysis conducted using Sightengine found a 99 percent probability that the video had been created using artificial intelligence.
Conclusion
Our research found the viral claim to be false. The video showing two buildings colliding and collapsing is not related to the recent earthquakes in Venezuela. The footage was generated using artificial intelligence and is being misleadingly shared as real disaster footage.
