An Indian official is seen allegedly speaking at a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting, where he is purportedly defending India’s supply of weapons to Israel. The video claims that India is fulfilling its defence export commitments despite allegations concerning the supply of small arms, ammunition and military vehicles to Israel since October 2023, including shipments by government-owned companies. CyberPeace Research Wing found that Permanent Representative of India to the UN Parvathaneni Harish did not make any such statement at the UNSC. His AI-manipulated video is being circulated on social media with a misleading claim.
Claim

To investigate the video, we first converted it into keyframes and then conducted a reverse image search of those frames using Google Lens. We found the original video posted on the official X handle of the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations. The post was accompanied by the caption: “#IndiaAtUN Statement by Permanent Representative Parvathaneni Harish at the quarterly UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Afghanistan.” We reviewed Parvathaneni Harish’s complete statement but found no such remarks as those shown in the video being circulated on social media. In his address, Harish did not make any reference to supplying weapons to Israel.
https://x.com/IndiaUNNewYork/status/2100275501851877641?s=20

Our investigation found that Parvathaneni Harish, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, had issued a statement on the situation in Afghanistan and India-Afghanistan relations. We also found the text version of his statement on the official website of the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations. In his statement, Harish referred to the historical ties between India and Afghanistan, noting that the relationship between the two countries predates modern maps and borders. He also spoke about India’s policy towards Afghanistan and its commitment to peace, stability and prosperity. In addition, he highlighted India’s participation in the meetings of the Doha Contact Group, its strong bilateral development partnership with Afghanistan, and its efforts through regional initiatives. However, a review of Harish’s complete statement shows that it contains no remarks resembling those attributed to him in the video being shared on social media. His official statement also makes no mention of India’s alleged supply of weapons to Israel or the 2,596 shipments cited by Amnesty International. This establishes that the video being circulated on social media is presenting Harish’s actual statement in a misleading context.

Hive Moderation’s analysis found no signs of manipulation in the video’s visuals. However, the analysis indicated a 97% probability that the speech used in the video was AI-generated.

Conclusion
Our research found that Parvathaneni Harish, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, did not make the statement attributed to him in the video being circulated on social media. His official statement at the UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Afghanistan focused on India-Afghanistan relations, peace, stability, development cooperation and regional initiatives, and contained no reference to India supplying weapons to Israel or to the 2,596 shipments mentioned in the viral video.
Further analysis by Hive Moderation found a 97% probability that the speech used in the video was AI-generated, while the visuals showed no signs of manipulation. These findings indicate that the video has been digitally manipulated by replacing or altering the original speech and is being presented with a misleading claim. Therefore, the claim that Parvathaneni Harish defended India’s alleged supply of weapons to Israel during a UNSC meeting is false and misleading.

At the end of our investigation, we found a report published on The Hindu website on September 16, 2026. According to the report, officials said that suspected militants had attacked Chawangkining Naga village in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district. The incident took place hours after two Kuki women were shot dead in Leisangphai village in neighbouring Tamenglong district.

Conclusion
Our investigation revealed that separate incidents of the killing of two women and the burning of their houses in Manipur are being falsely shared on social media, claiming them to be actions taken by the Indian Army. According to available reports, on September 15, 2026, two Kuki women were shot dead by unidentified armed assailants in Leisangphai village, Tamenglong district. On the same night, suspected militants attacked Chawangkining Naga village, Kangpokpi district. Security forces exchanged fire, and two houses on the outskirts of the village were set on fire. Conclusion
Our research found that the video showing Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping making pancakes together is not recent and has no connection with the 2026 BRICS Summit held in Delhi. The claim circulating on social media is therefore false and misleading. Further research established that the video dates back to 2018, when Putin and Xi participated in the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Russia. During the event, the two leaders were seen preparing traditional Russian pancakes, or blini, together at an exhibition showcasing the cultural and economic achievements of Russia’s Far East region. Therefore, the video is being shared with a false context by linking an old 2018 event to the recently held BRICS Summit.

Executive Summary
A video of a young woman without arms performing gymnastics has been widely shared on social media. In the video, the woman can be seen without both arms, yet she performs several difficult gymnastics moves with remarkable ease and confidence. Her impressive physical balance and practice have left viewers amazed. Users sharing the video are praising not only her talent but also her courage, confidence and determination. Many users are also describing it as an inspiring example of overcoming challenges and pursuing one's dreams with unwavering spirit.
However, a probe by the Research Wing of CyberPeace found that the video being shared on social media is not genuine but was generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI). The video shows the young woman performing difficult gymnastics moves with apparent ease, but a technical analysis revealed signs of AI-generated content. Therefore, sharing the video as a real incident or as the performance of an actual gymnast is misleading.

Fact Check
During our research of the viral video, we first conducted a reverse image search of its different keyframes. We also searched Google using relevant keywords. However, we could not find the viral video in any credible media report.
During the reverse search, we found the same viral video on the Instagram account @arenaathletics1, where it was posted on September 13. The post also carries an “AI-generated content” label. The video has garnered more than 20 million views. Several users in the comment section have also identified the video as AI-generated.

We then checked the viral video using the AI detection tool Hive Detect. In its analysis, the tool identified the video as likely AI-generated, assigning it a 93.1 percent score for AI-generated content.

Additionally, six detectors on Deepfake-O-Meter identified the viral video as AI-generated with a high probability.

Conclusion
Our research found sufficient evidence to establish that the viral video showing a young woman without arms performing gymnastics is not genuine. The video was found on an Instagram account carrying an “AI-generated content” label, while analysis using AI detection tools, including Hive Detect and Deepfake-O-Meter, also indicated a high likelihood of AI-generated content. Therefore, the video is AI-generated and is being misleadingly shared as a real-life performance, rather than an authentic video of a gymnast.
