#FactCheck: Old videos falsely shared as alleged rape of Dalit woman inside Ayodhya’s Ram Temple

Our research found that the viral video has been created by combining two separate clips. In the first part of the video, a woman can be seen staging a protest at Buddha Park in Haldwani and raising issues related to her in-laws. The second part shows a girl expressing her anger. Our research found that this clip has been available on the internet since December 27, 2025. Neither of the two videos is related to the alleged rape of a Dalit woman inside the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Fact Check
To verify the authenticity of the viral image, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. However, we did not find any credible media report related to the viral image during the search. To verify the claim, we conducted a reverse image search of the keyframes from the video. During the search, we found the same video on the Facebook page of Punjab Kesari - Uttarakhand, where it was published on March 6, 2026. According to the post, the woman staged a protest at Buddha Park in Haldwani and raised issues related to her in-laws. The link and screenshot of the relevant post are provided below.

Meanwhile, we found the second part of the viral video on LinkedIn, where the video was published on December 27, 2025.
Our research makes it clear that two old and unrelated videos are being shared with a misleading claim linking them to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The videos have no connection with the alleged incident on the temple premises, and based on the available evidence, there is no confirmation of any such incident taking place at the Ram Temple. Our research found that the viral video was created by combining two separate clips. In the first part of the video, a woman can be seen staging a protest at Buddha Park in Haldwani and raising issues related to her in-laws. In the second part, a girl can be seen expressing her anger. Our research found that this clip has been available on the internet since December 27, 2025. Neither of the two videos is related to the alleged rape of a Dalit woman inside the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Fact Check
A careful review of the viral video raised suspicions that it may be AI-generated. The footage was analysed using the AI detection tool HIVE MODERATION, which indicated that the video is approximately 84% likely to be AI-generated.
We also analysed the video using another AI detection tool, SIGHTENGINE, which produced an even stronger result, indicating a 99% likelihood of AI generation.
Conclusion:
The viral video being circulated as a flyover from Patna is not real. It is AI-generated and is being shared with misleading claims.

An image is being widely circulated on social media with the claim that it shows the destruction caused by an explosion at a mall in Japan following a 7.1-magnitude earthquake in July 2026. The viral image shows a shopping complex in a severely damaged condition, allegedly after the incident. CyberPeace Research Wing’s research found that the viral image does not show damage caused by an explosion or earthquake at any mall in Japan. The visuals in the image do not match authentic photographs of the affected shopping complex. The research further revealed that the viral image was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Claim
A social media post claims that the AEON Mall in Japan exploded after the Kumamoto earthquake and a gas leak was suspected. The post, published in Burmese language on Facebook on July 29, 2026, shared an image claiming to show the aftermath of the incident at the mall.
FactCheck
To verify the authenticity of the viral claim, we conducted a Google search using relevant keywords. During the search, we found a report published by France24, which stated that the Kumamoto disaster management office released updated figures following the earthquake. According to the report, seven bodies were recovered from the debris, steel and wires of the Aeon shopping mall after a suspected gas blast. The report further stated that eight people were confirmed dead at the Nippon Paper Industries factory in Yatsushiro city, where part of a red-and-white smokestack collapsed. Following the 7.1-magnitude earthquake, five others were reported to be in critical condition, while around 9,500 residents were staying in evacuation centres in Kyushu, southwestern Japan.

However, the viral image showed several visual inconsistencies and was flagged as AI-generated.
To further examine the authenticity of the image, we scanned it using the AI detection tool Hive Moderation. The results indicated that the image had an 84 percent probability of being AI-generated.
We also analysed the image using Human Meter, where the results showed a 75 percent probability that the image was AI-generated.
In the final stage of the research, we scanned the image using another AI detection tool, AI Image Detector. The tool indicated that the image had a 95 percent probability of being AI-generated.
Conclusion:
The research established that the viral image is not an authentic photograph of the damage caused by the Kumamoto earthquake or any explosion at an Aeon Mall in Japan. The image contains multiple inconsistencies and was found to be AI-generated. Therefore, the claim linking the image to the Japan earthquake incident is false.

A Facebook user named “Adv Mohd Salman” shared the clip on April 29, 2026, using Bengal-related hashtags and claiming that voters standing in line were beaten to influence the election outcome. The post alleged that free and fair voting rights were being suppressed.
Fact Check
To verify the claim, we closely examined the viral video. A vehicle visible in the footage had a registration number written in a non-Hindi script. Using Google Lens reverse image search, we found a matching image uploaded on Alamy on December 30, 2018. The image showed a military vehicle with the same script and registration style seen in the viral clip.
According to the description on the platform, the image was taken in Dhaka during Bangladesh’s national elections and showed Bangladeshi army personnel moving through a street near a polling station. This confirms that the viral footage is not related to the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections.
Conclusion
Our research confirms that the video showing security personnel baton-charging civilians is from Bangladesh, not West Bengal. It is being falsely shared as footage from the 2026 West Bengal Assembly elections to mislead users.
