#FactCheck-Fake Quote Falsely Attributed to Mojtaba Khamenei on India’s Prime Minister and Indira Gandhi

CyberPeace Research Wing’s research found that Mojtaba Khamenei did not make any such statement. The research revealed that there is no credible evidence, official statement, interview, or verified social media post supporting the claim. Had such a statement been made by him, it would have been reported by credible media outlets.

Sharing the graphic, an X user named Thakur Kuldeep Singh wrote:“Narendra Modi has tarnished India’s name across the entire world. Do we now have to hear all this from Iran too?”

Fact Check
As part of our fact-checking process, we conducted a keyword search on Google using terms such as “Mojtaba Khamenei criticized India’s Prime Minister for bowing before Trump” and “Mojtaba Khamenei praised India under Indira Gandhi.” However, we found no credible news reports, official statements, interviews, or verified social media posts supporting the claim that Mojtaba Khamenei made such remarks. During our research, we also found a report published by NDTV on March 12, 2026, which mentioned remarks made by a representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader regarding Iran-India relations.
According to the report, the representative stated that Mojtaba Khamenei “loves India” and values the long-standing civilizational ties between the two countries. He further said that Iran’s leadership has historically admired India’s culture, philosophy, and history and has consistently supported stronger relations between the two nations.

Our research found that the claim attributing a statement to Mojtaba Khamenei criticizing India’s Prime Minister for bowing before Trump and praising India during Indira Gandhi’s tenure is false. There is no credible news report, official statement, interview, or verified social media post confirming that Mojtaba Khamenei made such a statement. The viral graphic is being circulated with a false attribution.

The new laws aim to enhance the utilisation of digital services in court systems, it facilitates online registration of FIR, Online filing of the charge sheet, serving summons in electronic mode, trial and proceedings in electronic mode etc. The new bills also allow the virtual appearance of witnesses, accused, experts, and victims in some instances. This shift will lead to the adoption of technology in courts and all courts to be computerised in the upcoming time.

The criminal laws of the country play a significant role in establishing law & order and providing justice. The criminal laws of India were the old laws existing under British rule. There have been several amendments to criminal laws to deal with the growing crimes and new aspects. However, there was a need for well-established criminal laws which are in accordance with the present era. The step of the legislature by centralising all criminal laws in their new form and introducing three bills is a good approach which will ultimately strengthen the criminal justice system in India, and it will also facilitate the use of technology in the court system.

Social media users are sharing this footage while claiming that the actors were seen after the alleged demise of Mithun Chakraborty. However, research by the CyberPeace found the claim to be false. Our research revealed that Mithun Chakraborty is completely healthy and the claim about his death is misleading.
Claim
On March 6, 2026, an Instagram user shared the viral video claiming that actor Mithun Chakraborty had passed away.
Fact Check:
To verify the claim, we searched relevant keywords on Google. During this search, we did not find any credible media report confirming the death of Mithun Chakraborty.
We further checked the social media accounts of Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay Chakraborty, but found no information related to the viral claim. This indicated that the posts circulating on social media about the actor’s death were false. To trace the origin of the viral footage, we extracted key frames from the video showing Salman Khan and Govinda and conducted a reverse image search using Google Lens. During the search, we found the clip featuring Salman Khan on the Facebook page of Times Now, posted on November 11, 2025.
According to the report, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were seen leaving Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where veteran actor Dharmendra had been admitted on November 10 after his health suddenly deteriorated. The clip featuring Govinda was also found on the website of Navbharat Times, published on November 11, 2025. According to the report, Govinda had arrived late at night at Breach Candy Hospital to visit Dharmendra after he was hospitalized due to health issues.
Conclusion
Our research found that the viral claim is false. Actor Mithun Chakraborty is alive and healthy. The video circulating on social media actually shows Salman Khan and Govinda visiting Breach Candy Hospital in November 2025 when actor Dharmendra was admitted, and it has been wrongly linked to Mithun Chakraborty’s death.
Executive Summary
A video showing police personnel dancing on the streets along with civilians is going viral on social media. The clip is being shared with the claim that policemen in West Bengal were celebrating the defeat of Mamata Banerjee and the victory of the BJP.

An X user shared the video on April 26, 2026, alleging that police personnel were celebrating BJP’s victory. The post questioned those raising concerns over EVMs, suggesting that even police were openly rejoicing over the election outcome.

Fact Check
To verify the claim, we extracted keyframes from the viral video and conducted a reverse image search. This led us to a Reddit post dated September 13, 2022, where the same video was shared. The post described it as footage from Ganesh Visarjan celebrations in India, and several users in the comments identified the location as Maharashtra.
Further research led us to a YouTube channel “Yash Arate Vlogs,” which uploaded the same video on September 10, 2022. The description stated that the clip was recorded during Ganpati immersion celebrations in Kolhapur.

We also found media reports from September 2022 indicating that during Ganesh Visarjan in Kolhapur, loud music and festive atmosphere led even on-duty police personnel to briefly join the celebrations.
Conclusion
Our research confirms that the viral video does not show any post-election celebration in West Bengal. It is an old clip from Maharashtra, recorded during Ganesh Visarjan festivities, and is being falsely shared with a misleading political claim.
