#FactCheck: Viral Gambhir Video Predates T20 World Cup 2026, Claim Is Misleading

People must stay in their own domain. If we don’t interfere in someone else’s domain, they have no right to interfere in ours.”The video is being shared with the claim that Gambhir made these remarks recently in response to trolling after India’s loss to South Africa in the T20 World Cup 2026. However, research by the CyberPeace found the claim to be misleading. The viral video is not related to the T20 World Cup 2026. It is from December 2025 and pertains to India’s Test series defeat against South Africa. An old video is being circulated with a misleading context.
Claim
An Instagram user, ‘rns_news200’, shared the viral video on February 23, 2026, claiming that after the loss to South Africa, head coach Gautam Gambhir issued a stern warning to Indian fans. The caption stated that Suryakumar Yadav was heavily trolled on social media after the match, and Gambhir responded strongly, saying players should not be unfairly targeted and the team deserves support, especially during difficult times.

Fact Check
To verify the claim, we conducted a keyword search on Google. We found the same video on the official X (formerly Twitter) account of sports journalist Vikrant Gupta. The video was posted on December 7, 2025. According to the caption, Gambhir was expressing dissatisfaction following India’s performance.

We also found the longer version of the video on the official website of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), where it was published on December 6, 2025. In the full video, Gambhir is clearly seen speaking about India’s defeat to South Africa in a Test match. The specific segment that went viral appears around the 1 minute 58 second mark.

Conclusion
Our research found that the viral claim about Gautam Gambhir’s video being linked to trolling after the T20 World Cup 2026 is misleading. The clip is from December 2025 and relates to India’s Test series defeat against South Africa — not the T20 World Cup 2026.An old video is being reshared with a false and misleading context.

Fact Check
To verify the claim, we extracted keyframes from the viral video and performed a reverse image search using Google Lens. The search led us to a longer version of the same video uploaded on October 5, 2022, on Salman Khan’s official Instagram account, @beingsalmankhan.
In the original video, Salman Khan is congratulating veteran actor Chiranjeevi on the success of his film GodFather. He says, “My dear Chiru Garu, I love you very much. I have heard that GodFather is doing extremely well. Congratulations and may God bless you. Do you know why, Chiru Garu? Because this country and its people are truly strong.”

As part of our research , we also reviewed Salman Khan’s recent Instagram posts. We found a post published on July 23, 2026, in which he appealed to students and their parents amid the paper leak controversy. In the post, he urged students not to worry, expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would ensure strict action against those responsible, and appealed to protesters to return home peacefully.

However, none of Salman Khan’s recent posts contain any statement linking him to Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation.
Conclusion
Our research found that the viral video is from October 2022, when Salman Khan congratulated Chiranjeevi on the success of GodFather. The clip has been taken out of context and falsely linked to Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation in July 2026. Salman Khan did not make any such statement after the minister stepped down. Therefore, the viral claim is false.

The Cyber-Maitree 2023 event held in Dhaka aimed to enrich and build capacity to counter cyber-attacks and threats. The senior director of India's Computer Emergency Response Team acknowledged the growing dependence on cyberspace and the need for increased preparedness as critical infrastructures, energy systems, banks, and utilities are connected to the internet. Recently, Bangladesh Cyber Security Summit 2024, organised by Grameenphone, was held in Dhaka on March 5th, 2024. Such collaborative dialogues between the countries serve as a shining example of cooperation between the governments of Bangladesh and India, serving as a platform for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and international cooperation in cyber security.
Cyber Maitree held in 2023
In 2023, India and Bangladesh held 'Cyber Maitree 2023', an initiative hosted by the ICT Division of the Bangladeshi Government, to address cybersecurity challenges in a rapidly globalising world characterised by digitisation. The event, which translates to "Cyber Friendship," was an interface for cybersecurity experts and aspirants from both nations, creating an avenue for extensive training, practical exercises, and a dynamic exchange of information. We need to emphasise the importance of bolstering digital safety as both nations grapple with the rapid digitisation of the world.
India-Bangladesh joint efforts aim to fortify cyber resilience, pinpoint potential network vulnerabilities, bolster rigorous risk assessments, and illuminate the landscape of cyber threats. It encompasses various sectors, including cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, ICT, and IT-driven human resource expansion. The growing camaraderie between India and Bangladesh has been evident through strategic engagements, such as the India-Bangladesh Startup Bridge and the establishment of 12 High Tech Parks in Bangladesh.
Highlights of the India-Bangladesh MoUs for Cyber Security Cooperation
In 2017, India and Bangladesh signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) focused on cyber security cooperation.
In 2022, Both nations crafted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), highlighting collaboration in spheres such as e-governance, e-public service delivery, research, and development. A separate agreement was also inked focusing on mutual information sharing pertaining to cyber-attacks and incidents. The first MoU aims to provide a framework for training Bangladesh Railway employees at Indian Railways' training institutes, including field visits. The Indian Railways will coordinate with officials from the Ministry of Railways, Government of Bangladesh to improve training facilities in Bangladesh. The second MoU focuses on collaboration in IT systems, for the Bangladesh Railway. The Ministry of Railway, Government of India, will offer IT solutions for passenger ticketing, freight operations, train inquiry systems, asset management digitisation, HR and finance infrastructure. The MoUs aim to strengthen the friendship bond between India and Bangladesh and promote friendly cooperation in the railway sector.

Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Posts, Telecom and ICT, Bangladesh, has announced that Bangladesh and India will collaborate to ensure the safety of the cyber world. The two countries are expected to sign a final agreement within the next three to six months. He stressed the importance of attracting investments in the postal, telecommunication, and IT sectors. He also highlighted the strong ties between Bangladesh and India. He also announced that 12 high-tech parks will be constructed in Bangladesh with an Indian Line of Credit, starting operation by 2025. He further referred to the Indian Cyber Emergency Response Team (CERT), and said "We are very much enthusiastic in fighting against the cyber attacks and crimes as the team is now working with us".

The Incident serves as a clear-cut reminder of the escalating threat landscape faced by the healthcare organisation in this digital age. In the attack, which unfolded with grave implications, the attackers not only explored the vulnerabilities present in the healthcare sector, but this also raised the concern about the security of patient data and the uninterrupted delivery of critical healthcare services. In this blog post, we will explore the incident, what happened, and what safety measures can be taken.
Backdrop
The cyber-security systems deployed in AIIMS, New Delhi, recently detected a malware attack. The nature and scope of the attack were both sophisticated and targeted. This second hack acts as a wake-up call for healthcare organisations nationwide. As the healthcare business increasingly depends on digital technology to improve patient care and operational efficiency, cybersecurity must be prioritised to protect sensitive data. To minimise cyber-attack dangers, healthcare organisations must invest in robust defences such as multi-factor authentication, network security, frequent system upgrades, and employee training.
