The United Services Institution Model United Nations (USI MUN 3.0) successfully concluded as a dynamic platform for dialogue, collaboration, and youth engagement on emerging global challenges in the digital era. Organized under the theme “Digital Harmony: Global Cooperation for Safe and Ethical AI”, the conference brought together young delegates, experts, and thought leaders to deliberate on the evolving intersection of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital governance, human rights, and international cooperation.

The conference commenced with an inaugural ceremony addressed by Major General P. K. Goswami, Former Director of the USI Centre for United Nations and Humanitarian Studies, and Vice Admiral Sanjay J Singh (Retd.), Director General of USI. The speakers emphasized the importance of ethical AI, cybersecurity preparedness, and the role of youth in shaping responsible digital ecosystems. The event was conducted in collaboration with CyberPeace Foundation and supported by Google.org, reflecting a collective commitment towards safe and inclusive digital transformation.

USI MUN 3.0 featured five major committees — ECOSOC, UNCSW, UNOOSA, UNGA, and UNHRC — each addressing critical issues surrounding technology and governance. Delegates actively participated in debates, negotiations, policy drafting, and committee discussions focusing on themes such as deepfake misinformation, AI bias, cybersecurity risks, digital gender inequality, surveillance ethics, and autonomous intelligence in space systems.

A key highlight of the conference was the emphasis on the societal impact of emerging technologies. Discussions explored how AI-driven systems influence human rights, digital trust, public safety, and democratic participation. Delegates also examined the growing risks associated with misinformation, cyber threats, and misuse of AI-generated content, while proposing solutions centered on accountability, transparency, international cooperation, and ethical governance.

The conference also encouraged creative and intellectual expression through thought-provoking articles, analytical pieces, diary narratives, poems, and caricatures curated by the editorial team. These contributions reflected the concerns and aspirations of youth regarding the future of digital societies, responsible innovation, and inclusive technological progress.

The valedictory ceremony marked the successful conclusion of the event, with delegates being recognized for their outstanding performances through awards including Best Delegate, High Commendation, and Special Mentions. Major General P. K. Goswami and Shri M. A. K. P. Singh, Global Advisor for Cyber Peace, addressed the participants and highlighted the significance of informed dialogue, ethical digital behavior, and global cooperation in the modern era.

USI MUN 3.0 successfully created a meaningful platform for students to strengthen leadership, diplomacy, critical thinking, and public speaking skills while fostering awareness about pressing global digital challenges. The conference concluded with participants carrying forward new perspectives, stronger collaboration, and a shared commitment toward building a safer, ethical, and inclusive digital future.
