Introduction to CyberPeace

CyberPeace endeavors to make the Internet a more secure, stable, trustworthy and inclusive place for all netizens across the globe. As a non-partisan collective, we unite expertise, experiences, capacity and intent across a broad spectrum of institutions, disciplines and cultures in order to combat the common threat of cybercrime. The mission is to regularly collaborate with a plethora of stakeholders such as citizens, government organizations, law enforcement agencies, private companies, non-governmental organizations, universities, cybersecurity experts, bug bounty hunters and more.

Conference Concept Note

As more people gain access to digital networks, aided by reduced data pricing, they are simultaneously exposed to a rising risk of cyber threats. The unprecedented interconnectedness of today’s world is challenging governments to secure their digital spaces—a task made complex by the inherent borderless nature of cyberspace. With technology advancing rapidly, governments worldwide are devising and debating approaches to enhance cybersecurity measures and regulate cyberspace effectively. This area of study is gaining momentum in academia, particularly in understanding the dynamics of cybersecurity in the realm of international relations, where nations interact, collaborate, and sometimes contend within the cyber domain. This field presents vast opportunities and urgent challenges, demanding in-depth research and discussion.

 Conference Overview

This conference, hosted at the campus of Jawaharlal Nehru University, aims to delve into the diverse perspectives on cybersecurity, ranging from global to regional viewpoints. Global discussions will include analyses of cybersecurity policies and practices in the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, Europe, Iran-Israel, and Japan. Regionally, the focus will centre on India and China, exploring their distinct approaches and challenges in cyber governance. Esteemed experts and practitioners will contribute insights from their respective fields, providing a comprehensive, multifaceted understanding of cybersecurity.
